The genus Carcharodontosaurus is named after the shark genus Carcharodon itself named from the Greek? (karcharo) meaning "jagged" or "sharp" and? (odonto) meaning "teeth", and sa???? Carcharodontosaurus had enormous jaws and long, serrated teeth up to eight inches long.
