Please feast your eyes on this extremely rare late Jurassic 3.75 Torvosaurus Tanneri (savage lizard) tooth recovered from the Morrison formation of Mofatt County, CO. Torvosaurus specimens are exceedingly and much is still be to be learned. This large Carnosaur was the largest theropod of its time and reached lengths of up to 36 feet with skulls and teeth comparable to the T-Rex, having gone extinct 80 million years prior to the reign of the Rex.
This tooth unfortunately does have some condition issues to note. There are two areas of unattractive gap fill to the front 1/3rd of the tooth.
Additionally, there is heavily applied glue connecting the two main tooth sections. Whomever did the work initially did such sloppily and I'm sure with an expert hand the tooth could be made to look much more presentable. With that said, it does exist, and is of significant size and importance.
