Quality Carcharodontosaurus Tooth not T. Here is a quality Carcharodontosarid tooth from the upper Cretaceous of the Kem Kem Group in Morocco. It measures 3.70 inches. As far as large theropod dinosaur tooth go, these are somewhat common. In the world of dinosaurs, restoration is just a fact of life.

Unlike restored shark teeth which are frowned upon by most collectors, its not unusual and a common practice to restore dinosaur fossils. They rarely come out of the ground unscathed from the tens of millions of years being buried. With that said, Ill disclose anything that I see that might be restoration or just the stanilization of cracks.

When I acquire these teeth, they are coated in a fairly heavy coat of stabilizing glue from the field. I remove the glue with solvents and also gently micro blast the tooth to remove most of the extra matrix or granules of sand and any remaining haze from the glue.

Since this takes quite a bit of time I only give this treatment to the best of the bunch. Megalodon Teeth up to 3 1/2.
