This listing is for a fat 3" (2.99" measured with accurate calipers) Carcharodontosaurus dinosaur tooth from the Kem Kem Beds of Morocco. The serrations are great on this tooth and the enamel has a nice shiny orange tan color on one side and is quite bleached on the other. The preservation of the tooth tells a cool story of how it was discovered. This tooth was at least partially exposed on one side and the sun began to bleach the enamel white. The other side was still buried in the sediment so the enamel is still fresh and shiny.
The tooth was likely found in two pieces with the tip broken off but was reattached and fits together very nicely. A fine tooth and the serrations have a wicked curve to them on one side, a really interesting tooth with character.A really great addition to any collection! The tooth was found outside the city of Taouz Morocco along a cliff facing which separates Morocco from Algeria. This area is known as the Kem Kem Beds and dates back to the Cretaceous Period about 95 million years in age. The amazing thing is that this area used to be a lush tropical environment full of life. All of the waterways and river systems created a perfect environment for teeth, claws and bones to become fossilized. The fossil comes with a COA upon request.
