In 1946, a joint Soviet-Mongolian expedition to the Gobi Desert turned up a large skull and some vertebrae in the Nemegt Formation. Tarbosaurus is known from relatively abundant and well-preserved fossil material.
In fact, one quarter of all fossils collected from the Nemegt Formation belong to Tarbosaurus. Aproximately : 32cm x 11cm x 11cm. This is heavy approximately 5.2KG (Approximately 12.5 Pounds).
This egg is examine by our expert. This specimen preparation includes shell stabilization with a binding agent to prevent flaking off from the underlying rock and/or matrix patching or enhancement to ensure a beautiful and stable display.
When this egg nest was found, the exposed upper parts of the eggs were eroded away, so the preparation process was to covered in petrified sandstone and turned upside down. Further preparation and cleaning exposed the lower parts of the eggs, as shown in the photo above.
